I thought you all might like to know that we are making progress with our old home moving project. We hired an architect to help us with our site plan and carriage house design — I’ll be sharing photos soon — but in the meantime, our lot clearing has begun. It may not look like it, but we did save many trees, removing only those that interfere with the location of our house, garage, or driveway. Our lot clearing company is also removing the shed and a massive amount of brush and bamboo.
Mark is also gathering bids from contractors — plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc. I have been packing up more of the house, too — getting dishes out of cabinets, antiques and books off of shelves, paintings off of walls. Anything and everything that could break or tumble to the floor during the move will be packed up and secured. Needless to say, we have been busy, busy. Now I just need to find a day or two to work on income taxes (sigh).

Wow! Look at that! I feel the pain of the packing, I do, but yours is waaaay bigger than anything I hope I ever have to do in my lifetime. Best wishes for the best project I know I’ll be witnessing on blogging….ever. Cannot wait to see this unfold.

Breathe deep. Breathe slowly. It will all be okay. That’s what I keep telling myself.

Wish I was close and could pick up a bunch of that bamboo! I have a million things around here that I would love to constructed with bamboo but one just can’t find it around here 🙁

I wish you were close as well! I’d love to get rid of some bamboo.

ummmmmmmmmm good luck with the bamboo!!! We live a couple hours west of you, and it took many hours, gallons of professional weedkiller, and several years to rid one side of our property of the crazy stuff. My hubby said that we should just send a few sprouts of it to any part of the earth that needs taking over. It could overcome any country and any government on earth!! We could throw in a little honeysuckle as well, but that is another story :^)
Blessings on your move, I can’t wait to see the results!
Blessings,
J
