I love Walt Whitman’s words. It’s one of my favorite quotes about love.
To me, it’s like he’s saying, “We were inseparable. Why should I tell you all the in’s and out’s of day-to-day life? It somehow cheapens it. We were together. Through thick and thin. That’s all that matters.”
Or, it reminds me of past loves where you don’t remember many details … just that you loved them and will always remember them.
I’d love to hear what memories this quote or image evokes or what you think Mr. Whitman meant.
Have a wonderful Valentine’s Day this week.
P.S. Thank you once again to Mark Wilkinson for letting me modify and share his image. I love it so.

The love was so great, the details don’t matter. Nothing matters with love this great.

It means the bottom line is we were together. The rest was either slop or gravy, but we smelled it together!

Very lovely sentiment. My “translation” is: The important thing is that we were with each other and the details–all the ups and downs–are irrelevant. Thanks for sharing this; it was new to me.
