I love vintage photos! They always manage to make everything in them have this sort of elegance to them that we don’t have nowadays. I especially love the one with the ostriches here! Thanks for sharing!

Black and white photos reveal so much about the subject matter, you can almost smell the sweet scent of the little piggies (am I the only one who thinks they smell sweet?)

It still amazes me to look back at vintage photos and see what socializing and life was like pre facebook and youtube. It reminds me of how close people where and how one could get enjoyment from the little things like feeding the chickens. Now if we don’t have an ipad, ipod, iwatch, iphone and the latest SUV we have no idea what to do with ourselves.
I am amazed the reaction I get when I state I want to move to Missouri so that I could live the lifestyle these photos represent. In those times there was a since of a community, face to face socializing and feeding the chickens would bring a person joy. I just think these people don’t understand we don’t need all this modern technology to enjoy life. The world would be a better places if people could learn that we’ve survived for thousands of years on just simple things.
