This old house sits in a cow pasture. We pass by it every time we travel down Highway 21 on our way to Nacogdoches.
We hoped to salvage it about a year ago and located the owner who told us his wife planned to fix it up.   I can only hope that they eventually do that or let someone salvage it before it falls down.

Hi Kim,
For some reason that one that got away made me profoundly sad.
I hope the wife gets to it , contact ’em again!

Win some, lose some. I learned that a long time ago. But, we do intend to follow up at some point. 🙂

Kim – I just love this house. Imagine the stories that are in those walls. It would be terrible sad if they are lost forever. Perhaps another message to them would do the trick. Thank you for sharing. Best, Kim

Boy the stories I bet this house could tell, looks like there might have been a porch on front, but its gone now.

There are lots of those houses in East Texas. There were two on the road to our farm, so no matter which way we drove to Nacogdoches, we passed one of them. Someone had started working on one of them, but I never saw any more progress on it in the 5 years we lived there. It always made me sad, but also stirred my imagination. I’ve always wanted to go back in time, just for a little while, to see what it was like out there before cars and Wal-Marts.

As you well know, I love finding old abandoned properties. The ones you have featured here on your site are gorgeous. Oh if the walls could take!!! Thanks again for stopping by Hood Photography 🙂
