You know when you enter a contest and promptly forget about it because you never win anything? Well that happened to me recently.
I entered a giveaway, sponsored by the wonderful blog, On Sutton Place on April 30th.
When I was notified that I had won on May 4th, I had honestly forgotten all about it. I’m sorry to say that, but it’s true. Call it “too much going on”, but I had.
What’s funny and ironic: at the same time I learned that I had won a $75 gift card to Claudia’s wonderful Etsy shop, For the Love of France, my sister and aunt were vacationing in Paris.
I didn’t even realize that until right this minute.
Anyway, shopping to spend free money is always fun. And, it was an easy choice deciding that I would purchase some of Claudia’s delicious vintage linens.
I mean, just look at them. They’re delicious!
Although green is my favorite color, I was drawn to the red and white linens. I do like a touch of red here and there in my home, and they’re such a pretty shade of red.
In the end, I decided to buy two of the French linen metis towels, monogrammed K.M. I mean, duh! They are just too perfect — my name starts with a “K”, of course, and my husband’s name is Mark.
Sweet!
(By the way, what are the odds that a shop would have antique towels with our initials in the 25 days I had to spend the gift card?)
They’ll soon be in the mail, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
I think they’re destined to be pillows for our new bed we’re planning to build with the old porch posts we bought. That sewing machine I’ve been thinking of buying? It may be in my hands soon … or I just may have to contact Ann about turning them into pillows. I love her work. You should check it out.
Have you ever won anything after forgetting about it? If so, do tell.

Yes, I couldn’t believe it. I think it’s been at least 20 years since I entered a contest and actually won!
