We start our next project today.
This old house was recently bought by the Church of Christ. The church backs up to this house and I think they’re planning to build another church building on this land. I’m not sure about that but I know they want to see this little house demo’d as quickly as possible.
The first order of business will be to pick up all of the landscape debris in the driveway so that we can get our trash trailer as close to the house as possible.
This is a luxury we did not have with our last house. We had to pick up the debris, wheelbarrow it to the trash trailer and dump it. VERY labor intensive. For this house, we’ll be able to fling debris into the trailer … or so we hope.
It’s pretty darn overgrown, but the Church folks did a great job mowing the knee-high brush. It looks a lot better than when we first saw this place.
We don’t know much about this house. We knew the house was very old — one look at the fireplace and the old windows determined that. We guess it was built in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.
We’re hoping the previous owner left behind the window units but we’re hoping that all of his personal belongings (which we stacked from floor to ceiling) are gone.
So stay tuned to this channel for the story of the Rusk house. It looks like it will be another fun project for us.
